AliExpress comes to Panattoni Park Łódź West
Cainiao, the logistics arm of the Alibaba holding company, has leased almost 10,650 sq m in the Panattoni Park Łódź West logistics centre. The complex is to become a distribution centre for sellers on AliExpress, a global internet platform that sells goods directly from Poland. This is the first centre of its type and it is intended to support traders from Central and Eastern Europe. This should greatly improve the company’s operations across the region. By November, the company intends to roll out a one-day delivery service to most cities in Poland while taking no more than three days with deliveries to smaller towns and villages. The centre is also to play a key role in deliveries to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Austria. AliExpress intends to grow its user base in Poland where in August this year over 11 million people were already using the portal.
Panattoni Park Łódź West is to comprise one class A building that will eventually have an area of 61,000 sq m. Thus far around 20,000 sq m has been delivered. The centre is under construction near Łódź’s western bypass, which joins the S8 expressway (from Lower Silesia to Białystok) with the A2 motorway (Łódź-Warsaw-Poznań-Berlin). The park is less than 10 km from the city centre and 8 km from the Łódź Władysław Reymont Airport.
