Panattoni announces 52,000 sq m lease
Globalway – a supplier of toys, furniture, sports accessories, and interior furnishings imported from China – has decided to lease Panattoni Park Tricity East IV in Gdańsk in its entirety. Originally the centre was planned to be a three-building complex, but now it is to be a single building for the exclusive use of the tenant.
The deal has been made possible due to investment incentives provided to the tenant by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH). The 52,000 sq m complex is to be built in the eastern part of Gdańsk, and Globalway should be ready to move in as soon as the first quarter of 2021. The centre is being developed to serve as a distribution centre for both Poland and Europe. It will be classified as part of a Polish Investment Zone.
The centre will follow the latest standards implemented by Panattoni and is to be BREEAM certified with a rating of ‘Very Good’. The office section of the centre will have a glass and aluminium façade, and construction work is to begin in the third quarter of the year.
Globalway, part of the Costway group, is one of the largest suppliers of products from the Far East and China. It operates in more than 150 countries, and its strategic partners include companies such as Walmart, Amazon, eBay, Wish, and Home Depot. The company has been in a partnership with Panattoni ever since it first started its operations in Poland, when it leased 3,500 sq m in the developer’s first Gdańsk project – Panattoni Park Gdańsk I.
