Amazon building in Świebodzin
Amazon is building another distribution centre in Poland. Amazon's tenth Polish asset will have 193,000 sqm and is being constructed in the town of Świebodzin between Poznań and the German border.
Operations are scheduled to start in 2021 and within a year of the centre's opening around 1,000 new jobs are to be created. The centre is to be used for picking and packing and for despatching small goods such as books and electronics. The centre is to be fully automated with around 3,000 robots and it will be the third such automated Amazon facility in Poland with the other two being in Kołbaskowo near Szczecin and in Gliwice.
Over the last seven years since coming to Poland, Amazon has created over 18,000 permanent jobs in nine e-commerce centres. As well as the centres in Kołbaskowo and Gliwice the company also has warehouse facilities in Sady near Poznań, Sosnowiec, Pawlikowice near Łódź, Okmiany near Bolesławiec and two in Bielany Wrocławskie. Additionally, the company also has a research and development centre in Gdańsk and a Web Services centre in Warsaw.
