Construction work starts on GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre
GLP has started construction on a 240,000 sq m park in the village of Magnice near Wrocław. The initial plans are for five buildings each with a leasable area of 28,000-84,000 sq m. The centre is to be certified under BREEAM for a rating of 'Very Good'. The first building will have 41,000 sq m with construction work having already begun in August. It should be ready by 2022. The GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre will benefit from being near the S8 expressway and will also have easy access to the A4 and A8 motorways as well as to the S3 and S5 expressways. These roads will allow goods to be distributed from the centre not only to Wrocław and its surroundings but also to the rest of the country and abroad to the Czech Republic and Germany. The site is located next to bus stops, which connect to the centre of Wrocław and the park is also next to a 60,000 sq m commercial building constructed by GLP three years ago for an international e-commerce brand. The old trees on the site are not to be felled and include an oak that is over 100 years old. The 12m high building is to be illuminated with a DALI controlled lighting system and artificial lighting is to be kept to the minimum with more skylights than standard in the roof. The roof has also been designed for the installation of solar panels, which can be mounted on the request of the tenant. The centre includes bicycle shelters as well as electric vehicle charging stations in the car park, which will also be suitable for recharging e-bicycles.
