DB Schenker to take up space in Rzeszów
DB Schenker is investing in a 6,000 sq m building in the Rzeszów Dworzysko technology park. The warehouse is being constructed by Panattoni and has been accredited as an innovative development by the Rzeszów Regional Development Agency.
The building is to be built on a 4.5 ha site and will comprise a 5,270 sq m production hall as well as 725 sq m of office and social space. DB Schenker is to have 57 docks at its disposal as well as 200 parking spaces including 30 for trucks and 13 for vans. The project is scheduled to be delivered in January next year. The building is to be equipped with solar panels for heating water, the toilets in the office section are to use greywater for flushing and the HVAC system will have a heat recovery system that will be able to recapture 90 pct of the escaping heat. The company is to use the intelligent MetriXFreight system for automatically measuring package dimensions and will provide its new Connect 4.0 parcel service from the building.
This is not the first project Panattoni has developed for DB Schenker. A warehouse building is also under construction in Świdnik near Lublin and previously, at around the beginning of 2019, Panattoni delivered a building in Nowa Wieś Wrocławska near Wrocław.
The Rzeszów Dworzysko technology park is 7 km northwest of the centre of Rzeszów near the S19 expressway, which runs to both Lublin and Białystok. The centre is also only a few minutes' drive to the A4 motorway, which provides direct access to Kraków, Wrocław, Katowice and Gliwice.
