Dino expands its distribution network
Grocery store chain Dino has announced that it is to start the construction of two distribution centres. The first is to be built in the village of Sieroniowice around 30 km northwest of Gliwice and the second between Bydgoszcz and Warsaw in the town of Sierpc. The centres will include cold storage facilities and warehousing with storage space for dry goods as well as office and social space. Each centre is intended to have a usable area of around 45,000 sq m and an estimated investment cost of PLN 80 mln net, which is to be paid from equity and bank loans. The company expects the two centres to be delivered in around a year. Recently the company also announced that it had opened a similar distribution centre of 47,000 sqm in the town of Łobez in northwest Poland. Dino is a nationwide network of medium-sized supermarkets and is one of the fastest growing retail grocery chains in Poland. The first store in Poland opened in 1999 and the company’s first distribution centre began operations in 2002. At the end of 2010 the chain comprised 111 stores but by the end of March 2020 it had grown in number to 1,257 stores across Poland with a retail area of over 487,000 sq m. The group’s logistics network currently has five distribution centres. The remaining four are in the towns of Krotoszyn, Jastrowie, Wolbórz and Rzeszotary. The chain claims it is able to supply all its stores throughout the country on a daily basis. Do you need support in the rental process and optimization of storage facilities?
