Europe’s largest TK Maxx distribution centre to arise in Poland
US retail chain TK Maxx is to establish its largest distribution centre in continental Europe in Sulechów to the north of Zielona Góra. The 61,000 sqm centre is to supply 200 stores across Poland, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. This is to be the sixth such European distribution centre owned by TJX Europe, the company that runs the TK Maxx chain in Europe. Panattoni is to build the free-standing BTS centre on an enclosed 23 ha site. As well as warehouse space, the development is also to include 5,600 sqm of office and social space and should be ready from the beginning of January 2023. TJX Europe also manages the Homesense chain of stores in Europe and its two store brands are known for selling clothing and furnishing and accessories for the home. The company is a subsidiary of TJX Companies Inc, which has a business model of  selling known brands at discount prices that are up to 60 pct cheaper than in most stores. TK Maxx operates 602 stores across six European countries, while Homesense is a chain of 78 stores in the UK and Ireland.
