FM Logistic and Wedel renew 20-year partnership
FM Logistic Central Europe has renewed its contract to provide logistics services to chocolate producer Wedel. The two companies have worked together for almost 20 years and since the beginning their logistics operations have been centred around the FM Logistic facility in Mszczonów. The warehousing centre comprises almost 80,000 sq m with space for almost 120,000 pallets. The logistics services provided include warehousing as well as picking and packing for clients from the FMCG sector, one of the largest of which is Wedel. Since January this year, the centre has been exclusively powered by electricity from renewable sources.
Currently the services that FM Logistic provides Wedel include temperature-controlled warehousing throughout its entire supply chain including transport to and from the warehouse centre and the client's factory as well as a wide range of picking and packing services.
Wedel was founded in 1851 and its production since the 1930s has been based in Warsaw's Praga district. The company's product range includes Ptasie Mleczko, Mieszanka Wedlowska, chocolates, cakes, biscuits, wafers, bars and even ice cream. The company is also steadily expanding abroad and generates sales in just under 60 countries around the world.
The French-based group FM Logistic is a global logistics operator that operates in 14 countries across three continents. In the Central European region, it operates 17 logistics centres and 30 cross-docking warehouses. It also employs 5,500 people and in total its warehousing space across the region comes to 750,000 sq m while its fleet numbers around 2,500 delivery vehicles.
