GLP building in Upper Silesia
GLP has begun construction of a warehouse and production building with an area of 37,000 sq m in the town of Lędziny south of Katowice. This is the first stage of the GLP Lędziny Logistics Centre, which will eventually have an area of 110,000 sq m. The park is being built to GLP's standards for new buildings, which means that it will have a height of 12m and it will be possible to install photovoltaic solar panels on the roof. The halls will also have a 24m recess for picking and packing while the floors will have an increased load capacity of 7.5 tons per sq m. The buildings will have access to natural light and will be fitted with smart meters that will allow tenants to continuously monitor their utility usage via a smartphone app. A bus stop is to be located next to the entrance while an electric vehicle charging station will be next to the centre's office section. GLP Lędziny Logistics Centre is being built next to a junction on the S1 expressway, 10 minutes from the A4 motorway. It is also to meet BREEAM certification requirements for a rating of 'Very Good'. The first building, which has already been partially leased, is to be completed in the middle of the year. The general contractor for the complex is CFE, which has already worked for GLP as the contractor that built a BTS development for Valeo in the town of Skawina near Kraków.
