Honeywell to open factory in Prologis Park Chorzów
US industrial supplier Honeywell is to open a 27,000 sq m factory in the Prologis Park Chorzów industrial park. The new plant, which is to open this April, is to produce logistical automation equipment and employ around 100 people. Honeywell produces automation equipment for industry, buildings and aviation as well as chemical reagents. In 2020, the group recorded revenues of USD 32.6 billion. For Honeywell, one of the major factors in its choice of the park for its new factory was its easy access to the centre of Katowice, where the company has its Silesia offices. Prologis Park Chorzów is a modern distribution centre comprising five office and warehouse buildings with a combined area of 251,000 sq m. Small business units comprise around 16,000 sq m of the space. The complex has four entrance gates, with ample parking for both trucks and cars. Bus stops can also be found within the park. The centre has its own 24-hour security and includes outdoor space for people working in the park to relax, which was created as part of the developer’s PARKlife programme. The centre is located 8 km west of the centre of Katowice, while the A4 motorway, which runs between Germany and Ukraine is just 100m from the park. Moreover, the A4’s Gliwice-Sośnice junction with the A1 (which runs from north to south) is just 15 km away.
