Inpost takes 9,000 sq m in Kraków
Parcel courier service InPost has leased 9,000 sq m in City Logistics Kraków I from Panattoni. The developer is building a warehouse with an area of 14,500 sq m on ul. Cementowa within the city limits and InPost is to be the first tenant. The construction work should be completed in September 2021. Panattoni has also announced that as part of the same project, it is to construct another building, which will have an area of 22,000 sq m. It will be divided into small business units. The remaining space in the first building as well as the entire area of the second are being developed on a speculative basis. The complex is to be certified under BREEAM and should receive a rating of ‘Very Good’. It is being developed near a bus and tram terminal and will also be close to a junction of the S7 expressway, which connects the city with Warsaw and the Tricity. The road also connects with the A4 motorway, which runs from the German border through Upper Silesia to Ukraine. This is not the first lease of industrial space that InPost has signed with Panattoni. The company also leases 30,000 sq m throughout the country including in Toruń, Szczecin, Opole and Olsztyn. Moreover this month InPost is to move into a number of other buildings constructed by the developer including A2 East Warsaw Park (8,200 sq m), Panattoni Park Lublin III (8,100 sq m), Panattoni Park Bydgoszcz II (2,470 sq m) and Panattoni Park Białystok II (8,500 sq m). InPost operates over 9,000 Paczkomat parcel delivery lockers throughout the country and in 2020 alone the company increased its parcel handling capacity by over 40 pct. It also launched a weekend delivery service and a logistics service for companies.
