LPP covers 7,000 s qm roof with solar panels
Solar panels are to be placed on a roof of over 0,7 ha at the LPP Distribution Centre in Brześć Kujawski. Altogether around 4,000 panels with a combined capacity of 1.5 MW are to cover almost half of the available space. Currently, the construction of the building is being completed. The remaining roof space is also being prepared so that further solar panels may be installed at a possible future date. This represents the largest environmentally sustainable project in the region. The installation should generate enough electricity for around 800 households, but it is mainly to be used for the power needs of the development itself. Additionally, LPP is planning to make use of other energy-saving solutions including a heat recovery system for the office section, which should prevent up to 95 pct of the heat escaping. An advanced building management system (BMS) is to be used to integrate the automation systems of the various modules with the energy and work monitoring systems. The BMS will also control the building’s lighting, heating, air conditioning and technical systems. The centre has dimmable lighting that automatically adapts to the time of day and the prevailing weather conditions in order to optimise working conditions while minimising energy usage. The LPP Distribution Centre in Brześć Kujawski will have an area of 75,000 sqm, of which 65,000 sqm is to be warehousing space while 10,000 sqm will comprise offices. The centre is being developed in an investment of around PLN 200 mln and operations are set to begin in the building in Q1 2022.
