LPP to open 75,000 sq m distribution centre
Polish clothing company LPP is planning to start construction next January of a distribution centre in the town of Brześć Kujawski between Bydgoszcz and Łódź and within the Brześć Special Economic Zone. The centre will have a warehouse area of 65,000 sq m as well as 10,000 sq m of additional space including offices. The centre will double the capacity of the current supply and distribution chains of LPP and some of the workload from the LPP's central distribution centre in the town of Pruszcz Gdański just south of Gdańsk will be redirected to the new complex. Around PLN 200 million is being invested in the project.
Numerous automated energy saving systems are to be used in the centre limiting its environmental impact. Solar panels are to be installed on the roof that will be able to generate 1.5 MW of electricity.
The centre, which is to be developed in stages, is scheduled to open in 2022. The general contractor should begin work on the site by January 15th at the latest.
The construction of the building, the installation of its automated systems and its stocking should take around twelve months. The building machinery is to be transported only via national and district roads and the movement of such machinery near homes and public institutions is to be restricted to the minimum.
LPP is the owner of five clothing store chains: Reserved, Cropp, House, Mohito and Sinsay. Altogether the company has over 1,700 stores with a total sales area of over 1 million sq m.
