Panattoni to build 20,000 sq m for Flextronics International Poland
Flextronics International Poland has commissioned Panattoni to construct one of the buildings in its production and warehousing complex in Tczew. Panattoni has already bought an 11,000 sq m building in a Sale and Leaseback transaction, which it is now to extend by a further 20,000 sq m. The development is to begin soon, and the work is not to interfere with the normal activities of the production centre including the extension of a production hall, while the operations within continue. The developer is to include numerous sustainability solutions so that the building may be certified under BREEAM for a rating of Excellent. Part of the work will also include Panattoni's installation of a sprinkler system and flooring with a high load-bearing capacity. It is also to create a recreational area for the employees at the centre.
Flextronics International Poland is part of the international Flex Group, which employs almost 200,000 people across 30 countries. The group is involved in the design and supply of advanced technology for the logistics and production industries.
The factory in Tczew comprises four buildings with a combined area of 80,000 sq m and is a crucial part of the Flex network in the CEE region. The factory is located within the Pomerania Special Economic Zone. This is not the first sale and leaseback transaction for Panattoni. Recently, Panattoni completed a similarly structured project for Solaris in Bolechowo.
