Panattoni to build sorting station for Poczta Polska
Industrial developer Panattoni has begun construction work on a new sorting station for Poczta Polska near Radzymin. The Warsaw II centre will comprise over 50,000 sq m of operational and logistics space including a cross-docking area of over 12,000 sq m and a warehousing/operations area of 26,000 sq m. Near the entrance to the centre and next to the main building, there are to be 400 parking spaces. A cross-belt machine will have 300 separate exit slides and will be able to sort up to 15,000 parcels an hour. The sorting station is to be a distribution hub for parcel and pallet deliveries. The new centre is to be ready by the end of 2023, Poczta Polska signed the lease for a new sorting station with Panattoni in May 2022.
Investing in a new building in Radzymin is part of Poczta Polska's strategy to transform its facilities from mainly serving letters to parcels. The total investment for this has been budgeted at around PLN 760 million for the 2021–2025 period. As part of the Logistics Network Architecture project, new sorting stations are in 2023, to also start operating in Wrocław, Lisi Ogon near Bydgoszczą and Lublin.
Poczta Polska has a network of 14 regional sorting stations and 13 local stations as well as 7,600 post offices.
