Post Office starts recruiting for Christmas period
Poczta Polska, the Polish Post Office, is to employ at least 1,200 people over the Christmas period as additional drivers, sorting workers, and delivery personnel. The company is expecting to handle a record number of parcels this year. Last year the number of deliveries rose over the November/December with over 75 pct more parcels delivered during the peak week of December compared to an average week at any other time of the year. This year Poczta Polska is expecting similar demand and believes that at the peak the number of parcels could be over 1 mln per day. The company has held recruitment campaigns for seasonal workers for many years. Additionally, the company is seeking security staff, to whom it is offering normal work contracts.
Poczta Polska requires additional workers for its sorting stations in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Szczecin, Lisi Ogon near Bydgoszcz, Białystok, Olsztyn, Katowice, Kraków, Rudna Mała near Rzeszów, Lublin, Kielce, Łódź, Poznań and Wrocław.
