Warehouse completed for Bridgestone in Stargard
The construction of a distribution centre in Stargard for Japanese tyre manufacturer Bridgestone has been completed. The 15,500 sq m building is situated next to the company’s factory and is connected to it via two connectors. The new warehouse has space to store 60,000 tyres, which is enough to meet the storage needs of the production plant, which has a production capacity of 5,000 tyres a day. The general contractor has also built access roads, car parks and a manoeuvring square. The construction work was organised so as not to disrupt the logistics operations of the factory. The building is intended to serve as a distribution centre for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Atlas Ward is the general contractor. The tyre factory in Stargard has been operating since 2008 and is one of Bridgestone’s most modern facilities in Europe. The factory produces tyres for buses and trucks. Among the Japanese producer’s clients are automotive companies such as Daimler, Volvo, Scania and Solaris.
