7R is building a BTS warehouse for grocery chain Żabka in the Warsaw satellite town of Radzymin. The 60,000 sq m centre will be the largest and most modern of the Żabka logistics chain. Part of the building will have a ceiling height of 40m, four times the standard warehouse height and will be used for high storage. The centre will also include a temperature-controlled section with freezer and refrigeration areas as well as washing and drying sections. Construction work began in January and should be completed by mid 2022. The centre is to be equipped with the latest automated logistics systems including an automated conveyor and pallet silo. The centre is also to feature a Goods to Man picking and packing station that will be able to despatch around 5,000 cubic metres of goods every day. The building is to meet the highest ecological standards and is to be powered with its own solar panelling. Over 23 years Żabka has built up a chain of 6,970 stores and is one of the leading convenience stores not only in Poland but also across the CEE region. The company uses a franchise model and has around 5,000 franchisees.
